| JORD | Father's Day |

Father's day came early this year for Guillaume. The lucky guy received a zebrawood and dark sandalwood wooden watch from none other than JORD. They are my favorite go to watch company for edgy, sophisticated and sleek designs. I have had my eye on the Conway series for Men so I could borrow, I mean Gui would never want to take it off. This watch easily goes from casual to work. OBSESSED.

Take 15% off your order for the special guy in your life! Bonus- I have teamed up w/ JORD for the ultimate father's day giveaway. Enter to win a $150 e-gift card to shop the watch of your dreams. Good luck to all my followers!!

| Wood Watches | JORD |

I have been obsessing over wooden watches since I first laid eyes on one years ago. We were just leaving a Christmas market in Zurich and Olive was not having anymore shopping (or was it Gui?). Kidding. Either way I never found one that I liked as much; that was until I was turned on to JORD watches.

Not only are their styles on point but I love that the company is about more than telling time. They hope to create a product that takes you on an unforgettable journey, experiencing new things and enjoying every moment. Now that speaks to me.

My style is more manly when it comes to watches. I like the appeal of a solid beautiful natural watch without too many fancy details. Therefore it was easy for me to fall in love with the Fieldcrest series zebrawood + maple watch.

I am super excited to team up w/ JORD to offer you all the chance to win a $75 gift card to their site! All you have to do is enter by clicking here. All entrants receive $20 off code just for entering. Sweeeeeeeet. Good luck!

| Hair Mask | Arbonne |

Hey guys! So sorry it has been a while since my last post. It has been a hectic month and a half for the Desbiens family. First, we officially settled in to our Minneapolis condo for the summer. After, we ventured down to the Caribbean for a lovely beach vacation. Next, we traveled up north to Quebec to visit family and friends. The pictures from our travels will be in future posts!

In order to feel settled in and get back on track I have been focusing on perfecting my hair routine. In the last six months my hair has been a slew of colors ranging from chestnut brown to ash gray. My poor thirsty hair as been clearly over processed and neglected. Thank goodness I was turned on to an organic beauty / wellness brand called Arbonne. I have been using their Fortifying Hair Mask from their Seasource Detox Spa Collection twice a week. It smells like I am dousing my hair in can of Fresca and feels instantly smooth in the shower. I usually let it sit on for 10 minutes before rinsing out and towel drying. The result is so sleek and easy to comb I don't feel I have to condition after. I can't wait to continue to use this product over time to help strengthen it. I believe I am officially growing it out again, so anything helps ;)

| Edinburgh | around town |

We were able to enjoy a full three days wandering aimlesly around Edinburgh.  Everywhere we looked, there was tartan, whiskey, and bagpipes.  One of the best parts was overindulging in all of the lovely restaurants this city has to offer.  Olive would say her favorite was the Mexican restaurant we stumbled upon.  I know, I know, Mexican in Scotland you ask?  It was actually the best Mexican we have had since arriving in Europe!

| Scotland | Edinburgh |

Where do I begin with this true architects dream?  Every, I mean every building was so stunningly beautiful.  With my mouth ajar, I continuously gazed in bewilderment as we wondered the city.  The most prominent structure is the historical fortress known as the Edinburgh Castle.

We have been under the weather over here for quite some time now.  We haven't had the energy to get out and explore other areas.  So, we have been venturing out and about in Sheffield!  Here are some of my favorite snaps from the past few weeks. ( yes that is deep fried brie in the last pic)

| thrill of the hunt | thrifting |

Sheffield has proven to be a great thrifting city! I am a sucker for a day filled of sifting through old treasures.  In the last three months I have scored quite a few times.

First, a vintage sugar bowl with a claw hand, as if drinking my morning coffee wasn't fun enough.  It's like a claw game with a sugar cube prize.  Next, a coffee table U2 book in mint condition.  I love this vintage floral bucket that we will use to store ice for our summer dinner parties.  How cute is this mini version of the popular coffee table The Fashion Book?  The next find was for little O herself.  Imagine my surprise to find one of my favorite childhood books on the thrift store shelf.  Lastly, a perfectly matching grey mirror and a distressed beach bag for our upcoming St. Maarten trip.

Let's be honest the day of love is all about showering your honeys with things they adore. So for Olive and myself it included a coffee date (muffin for her), colorful flowers and walk in our favorite area in Sheffield. Did I mention we all received amazing new Punchy Magnolia hats for the occasion? ((yes we see your cool hat papa))

| summer days| flashback |

Today we are headed south for a sunny family vacay! As we were prepping all weekend I could not stop reminiscing of warm summer days....

| zagreb | croatia |

Looking back through my albums I realized I never shared our photos from our visits to Zagreb. We only spent two brief day trips there, but I immediately fell in love. I knew that was a city I wanted to explore in depth. However, we never made it back to this gem before moving to the UK. At least we enjoyed our time while we were there!

| beach holiday | essentials |

I have nothing but sand, warmth and sunshine on my mind. We are less then a week away from our February break trip to a warmer destination. I am usually the one to suggest a place for us to venture to, but not this time. Gui had the brilliant idea of us planting our buns on the sandy beaches of Tenerife. Located off the coast of West Africa, it is actually part of Spain's Canary Islands. It is also home to one of the largest volcanoes, which allows the island to have gorgeous black sand beaches. I am dreaming of these beautiful swim essentials to pack in my bag...

| British Tea Party |

Olive and I got to experience our first tea party since arriving in England! Actually, it was our first authentic tea party ever, ours usually consist of water spilling out of cups on the bedroom floor. Our experience at The Vintage Community was nothing short of amazing.  This adorable two story building is a vintage mecca. You are immediately drawn into the cozy atmosphere with antique tea sets lining the walls and fresh baked sweets filling your nostrils. We overindulged in delicious sweets for nearly three hours. There is something lovely about the simplicity of sitting, sipping and snacking with friends for hours on end.

| accessorize |

It's that time of the year again when I find myself getting bored with my current wardrobe. I don't want to invest in anymore winter clothing with spring coming soon (hopefully right?).  This is when I turn to my trusty accessories; comfy scarves, chunky jewels and oversized hats.

My first go to are oversized, blanket-like scarves. I love wrapping these around lighter jackets like my leathers.

Second, I have a great variety of somewhat smaller, yet still warm, scarves. These pair perfectly well with my duster sweaters and denim jackets.

Next, I have a few detailed scarves. These bad boys I wear with my heavy duty winter jackets or super thick sweaters. It is all about balance when it comes to pairing scarves with your attire. Both visually and by physical weight. You want to achieve a put together look not a sweaty hot mess.

If my outfit is looking a little blah I can always turn to a chunky necklace to spruce myself up. I adore a little druzy sparkle or even a bold choker piece!

Lastly, for those days when I am dressed head to toe in one basic color I toss on an oversized hat. Not only does it hide a possible bad hair day, it also instantly makes it look like you tried.

| York | England |

Family exploration days have to be one of my favorite things, ever! We always choose an unfamiliar place while maintaining little to no expectations. This past journey we took an hour train ride from Sheffield where we found ourselves in the quaint little town of York. We were pleasantly surprised as to how big this gem actually was! We had the BEST brunch ever at Brew + Brownie, toured the York Minster, and ventured down the cobblestone streets.
